From time to time my Oldsmobile 1995 Achiva 3.1 lacks of power. Sometimes it will be hard to start, those times I have to use the accelerator to keep it going. Other times the car starts well but once on the road, if I slow down and then try to pick up my speed the engine seems to stop driving the car, a few seconds later everything comes back to normal but keeps on working erraticaly. When I stop on trafic light, the car hardly idles, and I have to keep on pressing on the accelarator to keep it running. This problem, I think, is related to cold and damp temperatures although I can feel it is slightly present in summer time. I have this problem since the 2008 winter. Since my problem happens only occasionnaly it is very difficult to pinpoint the cause of this problem. What do you think of it ?

These symtoms sound like water or contaminates in the fuel. If this is the case, it should clean itself out in time....depending on how much water there is. You could try methyl hydrate (line antifreeze) to absorb it and add a few injector cleaners as well. Just my 2 cents.

Possible map or mass sensor problem.
