I have a real crappy hood ornament for the 51 that I intend to use til the car is nice enough for the new 1.
The 1 I want to use for now is pitted real bad. Tried sandblasting it with poor results. I have never worked with plated cast before so a little lost here. Want to get it smooth, fill a bunch of the deep holes with ???? and then paint it. Any suggestions? |

If you can fill it smooth I could have it aluminized for ya ........ nice aluminum finish that could buff up with steel wool to a near chrome finish. Its a painted process that looks awesome similar to a powder coat. I have had it done on headers, manifolds, trim pieces etc ...... and cost is very cheap. Let me know if you r interested.

Thanks for the offer but it the smoothing I'm having trouble with. This is just something I'll put on the car to fill the holes until it is complete. I have a rare brand new ornament I'll use once the 51 has paint. Will get in touch about doing my headers this spring. alan
